About Department (History, Strengths and Achievements):

Department of Economics was established in 1998. The Economics Department is a well-resourced department. As well as an extensive collection of economics books and journals in the college Library we also have a variety of journals and periodicals available in the Department. Students are asked to subscribe to Economics Today, a journal for Economics students that is very useful for the course.

The Department itself subscribes regularly to Economics Today, Yojana and Money other leading periodicals.

In addition, we have computers for teacher use, and in the Departmental teaching rooms which are used for classroom teaching. Our classrooms are equipped with computers and projectors to facilitate the use of ICT in our lessons.

Also, the Department undertakes further to provide its students with an Articles & Notes Booklet which will be used extensively throughout the Economics course followed.

Use is also made of ICT in facilitating our work and improving learning,. We have prepared PPTs' on all topics.

The department visited various small-scale industries, Micro industries, and Iron Mines. Students visited the Cashew process industry, (Sawantwadi), Cockpit production industry (Shiroda), Iron Mines, (Reddi), Milk Dairy (Warananagar), Spare Parts Industry and Laxmi Industry in the last five years period.

Department offered certificate courses in Banking and Digital World, New Trends In Banking, ------etc. It has been offering Career Oriented courses in Banking Sector, Importance of Micro Medium and Small Entrepreneurs.

Department signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs) Linkages  with Smt. Akkatai Ramgonda Patil Kanya Mahavidhyalay Ichalkaranji, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Mahavidhyalay, Peth Vadagaon, Rajrshi Shahu Arts and Commerce College, Rukadi to organized programs and activities in collaboration e. i. Industrial Development Since 1990 in India, Opportunities in Economics, Investment Awareness, international Consumer’s Day,  Changes in International Trade in India, Investment Awareness.

The department has three permanent and one visiting faculty, all are Ph. D. holders. One of the faculty member is Member of Board of Studies (BoS) and also has worked various University committees such as CAP Director, Member of LIC, Flying Squad and SIM Editorial etc.She is program Officer of National Service Scheme (NSS). She is appointed Contingent Leader for Republic Day Parade Camp Delhi, Pre-Republic Day Parade Selection Camp, Anand Gujarat, State Level Pre-Republic Parada Selection Camp, Shivaji University, Kolhapur.  She has received Awards the Adarsh ​​Shikshak Puraskar of Sant Dnyaneshwar Shikshan Sanstha in 2016-17 and Lions Club of Ichalkaranji in 2019-2020,  Apate Wachn Mandir, Ichalkaranji in 2022-23.Professor Sameer has passed NET examination and is working as the Executive Coordinator of National Service Scheme, Shivaji University, Hatkanangale taluka cluster.
