About Department

Dept. of History established with the foundation of the college in 1998. Adhering to the Vision, Goals and Mission of the College and the Institution; the Dept. is heading towards the excellence in learning and research in the discipline of History. It provides various platforms to the students where students can learn-research as well as groom as a proud person of his/her nation and culture. In tune with this, it adopts various learning methods; to name a few;

Learning through Group Discussion, Debates, Seminars, Study Tours.

Training and Orientation Program, here, students are trained in various fields of History, like, Modi-script, Numismatics, Archaeology, Iconography etc.

Field Projects are the projects undertaken by students in which data is mostly collected in field by using various field methods, like; visit, interview, collecting oral traditions, audio-video documentation etc.

Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Center for Study in Maratha History (CSMCSMH), is adepartment association in which students research in various aspects of Maratha History.

Documentation center which collects and documents oral traditions from the neighborhood area. The data is being made public through its own you-tube channel.

Students to subject conference, here, students, guided by faculty, prepare research papers and present in various subject conference.

Organizing workshops on Research Methodology, Self-funded webinars and Conferences, funded by UGC and ICSSR.

Dept. is in MoU with Shivaji University History Association along with Linkage program, organizes faculty exchange and guest lectures.

To make learning and research more effective, the department has equipped itself with advanced ICT facility and library, along with qualified and updated faculty.
